What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing/Lean Project Manager position at DTG Consulting Solutions, Inc.?
Job Overview
Highly successful and growing manufacturing company is looking to add multiple Project Managers to its New Product Development (NPD) team in Easton, PA. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role embedded within Engineering, responsible for leading complex product development projects from concept through commercialization.
These are not traditional desk-based PM roles. Our PMs are present in the lab, on the floor, and in front of senior leadership driving projects. These positions are critical to maintaining momentum across a dynamic and expanding product pipeline. Candidates should be technically curious, composed under pressure, and capable of commanding a room without commanding headcount. This is a role for project managers who want to be close to the product — not just the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Own all project deliverables end-to-end, maintaining timelines, scope documentation, and risk registers with a minimum weekly cadence of updates
- Lead cross-functional project teams — coordinating engineering, manufacturing, product management, and operations stakeholders — without direct reporting authority
- Develop project schedules collaboratively with core team members; assign tasks, track effort, and manage variance using company-approved program management tools
- Facilitate effective project team meetings, record minutes, maintain orderly documentation, and drive accountability across all workstreams
- Prepare and present project status readouts to senior leadership and the Product Development Council (PDC), including milestone tracking, risk flags, and schedule impacts
- Partner with Product Management to develop project charters, define scope, goals, deliverables, resource needs, and timelines
- Apply Lean and Quality Improvement principles to identify process deficiencies and contribute to evolving PM best practices
- Be present where the work happens — including lab visits, manufacturing trials, and field evaluations as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects with budgets of $100K or greater, using MS Project or equivalent scheduling/resource tracking tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and build consensus without direct authority
- Strong upward communication skills — comfortable presenting structured readouts (positive or negative) to executive audiences and adapting messaging accordingly
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs; familiarity with MRP/ERP systems
- Resilience under pressure: composed when plans change, adaptable when priorities shift, and able to maintain project momentum through uncertainty
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
- Hands-on experience in or genuine interest in a technical/manufacturing environment — ability to engage in the lab or on the floor, not just in the conference room
- Background in PMO or ePMO environments, with experience driving standardization, governance, and process improvement across project portfolios
- Prior exposure to New Product Development (NPD) project management is a plus, but transferable experience from process or systems PM roles is equally valued
Salary : $125,000 - $140,000
