USCG Training Center Cape May needs one Registered Dietitian to support the Future Sentinel Preparatory Course. You help students reach Coast Guard body composition standards through nutrition planning, counseling, and monitoring.

Job Duties

• Provide nutrition assessments and set goals for each student
• Deliver Medical Nutrition Therapy using evidence-based guidelines
• Review medical history, labs, supplements, and eating patterns
• Track progress in areas such as abdominal circumference, body fat, and labs
• Build nutrition plans for classes of up to 30 students
• Support safe weight loss and performance nutrition needs
• Counsel students in group and one-on-one settings
• Teach topics such as fueling, supplements, caffeine use, and sleep hygiene
• Check meals and food logs to track compliance
• Work with fitness instructors, corpsmen, and Coast Guard staff
• Prepare documentation and maintain accurate records
• Support food service staff on nutrition initiatives
• Develop individualized wellness plans
• Join team huddles to review student needs
• Help identify program improvements
  
  

Requirements

• Current New Jersey RD license
• Active BLS
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an ACEND accredited program
• Completion of ACEND internship with 1200 supervised hours
• One year of work experience
• Background in sports nutrition or weight management preferred
• Meet state health and immunization requirements
• Strong critical thinking and teaching skills
• Ability to work independently
• Experience with adult learners is helpful
  
  

Schedule

• Full time
• Up to 40 hours per week
• Monday through Saturday
• Work hours fall between 5:30 am and 5:00 pm
