About the role

DT-Trak Consulting, Inc. — a Native American-owned, ISBEE-certified federal staffing firm — is hiring a Security Guard to provide non-personal security services at the Jicarilla Service Unit (JSU), an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility in Dulce, New Mexico. This is a full-time position on a federal contract with a base year and up to four option years.

Compensation

Taxed hourly rate: $21.00/hr
Non-taxable per diem rate: $22.25/hr
Blended hourly rate (total compensation): $43.25/hr

Weekly breakdown (40 hours):
Gross taxed wages: $840.00/week
Non-taxable per diem (not subject to withholding): $890.00/week
Total weekly compensation: $1,730.00/week

*Per diem is non-taxable when paid under an IRS accountable plan at or below GSA rates.

What you'll do

• Conduct routine foot patrols of buildings, grounds, and parking areas
• Monitor security camera systems and manage visitor access and badging
• Respond to all JSU emergency codes (medical, fire, disturbance, hazardous material, armed attacker)
• Control access at entry points; support law enforcement when requested
• Maintain daily activity logs and prepare same-day incident reports
• Assist clinical staff during emergency situations and patient transport
• Support morgue chain-of-custody procedures per JSU policy
• Secure and open the facility at designated times

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (30-minute unpaid lunch break). 40 hours per week. 100% on-site coverage required.

Requirements

• Valid New Mexico Security Guard license (Level 1, 2, or 3) — or ability to obtain prior to start
• Must pass a federal background investigation and fingerprint check under Public Law 101-630 — no felony convictions; no two or more misdemeanors involving violence or crimes against persons
• Must meet IHS immunization requirements before starting: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Annual Flu, Tdap, COVID-19 (or approved exemption), and TB screening within the past 12 months
• Must comply with HIPAA, the Privacy Act, and IHS standards of conduct
• Professional appearance and demeanor required at all times
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred qualifications

• Prior security experience in a healthcare or government facility
• Familiarity with emergency response procedures and incident reporting
• Experience working with or within Native American tribal communities

Important notes

This position is located in Dulce, NM — a rural community on the Jicarilla Apache Nation. No government housing or cafeteria services are available. Per diem is provided to offset lodging and meal costs for non-local hires. Work may not begin until all federal background checks are fully adjudicated and the government issues an official start date.
