A large-scale, modern food manufacturing facility is expanding operations and seeking an experienced Refrigeration (Ammonia) Manager to oversee the performance, safety, and reliability of its ammonia-based refrigeration and HVAC systems. The Refrigeration (Ammonia) Manager provides hands-on leadership for all aspects of the facility's industrial refrigeration systems, including a high‑volume ammonia charge and associated HVAC equipment. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation while driving continuous improvement in system reliability, uptime, and cost performance.
- Oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of all plant ammonia refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Lead and develop a team of supervisors and technicians, ensuring proper staffing, training, safety practices, and performance to meet production needs.
- Ensure full compliance with PSM, HazMat regulations, OSHA requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and all applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.
- Direct maintenance activities including equipment installation, preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track and report key performance indicators related to safety, uptime, maintenance costs, and asset management, ensuring targets are met efficiently.
- Drive process optimization and cost‑effective improvement strategies using Lean methodologies (e.g., TPM, TPS) and contribute to capital planning and project execution.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 8 years of relevant experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration maintenance management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and partnering cross‑functionally with corporate or operational stakeholders.
- Strong technical expertise in ammonia refrigeration systems and Process Safety Management.
- Prior experience in food manufacturing and familiarity with USDA/FDA regulatory environments preferred.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMRP, Six Sigma, Lean) are beneficial.
- Experience with SAP or similar CMMS tools is a plus.
Salary : $110,000 - $150,000
