Senior Director Operations

Our client is a leading third‑party logistics provider seeking a Senior Director of Operations to lead a large, complex multi‑client distribution center in the Greater Columbus, OH market. This is a critical site leadership role with full responsibility for operational performance, client satisfaction, team development, and continuous improvement.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced 3PL operator who thrives in fast‑paced, customer‑centric environments and brings strong execution discipline, operational rigor, and people leadership.

• Provide end‑to‑end leadership for a multi‑client distribution operation, including inbound, outbound, inventory control, value‑added services, and labor management
• Own P&L performance, operating budgets, productivity, cost control, and service‑level attainment
• Serve as the senior point of contact for customer relationships, ensuring strong operational execution, retention, and growth
• Lead and develop a large on‑site leadership team (operations managers, support functions, supervisors)
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost
• Partner cross‑functionally with engineering, IT, HR, and commercial teams to support client onboarding and operational scalability
• Play a hands‑on role in site launches, expansions, or turnarounds, as applicable
• Support the evaluation and implementation of distribution automation and material handling solutions where appropriate
  
  

• 10 years of progressive operations leadership within a 3PL or contract logistics environment
• Proven experience leading multi‑client distribution centers (highly preferred)
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, labor models, KPIs, and service‑level management
• Demonstrated success managing large teams and developing high‑performing leaders
• Experience owning or influencing P&L and operating budgets
• Track record of driving operational improvements in complex, fast‑moving environments
  
  

• Distribution automation exposure (AS/RS, conveyors, sortation, AMRs, WMS integrations, etc.)
• Site launch, startup, or turnaround experience within a 3PL or large DC environment
• Experience supporting new customer implementations and onboarding
• Background operating in high‑volume, high‑SKU, or labor‑intensive facilities
