Position Summary
The Quality Engineer - QC serves as the primary interface for customers on production‑related quality matters. This role focuses on issue resolution, continuous improvement, quality performance monitoring, and audit support within an ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing environment. The CQE ensures customer satisfaction by driving corrective actions, improving documentation, and fostering strong cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers regarding production quality issues and escalations.
- Provide timely customer communication, including status updates, quality reports, and support for business reviews.
- Lead structured problem‑solving processes using 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and other root‑cause methodologies.
- Monitor key quality metrics such as PPM, warranty data, and customer scorecards.
- Maintain and enhance quality documentation including control plans, FMEAs, and standard work.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI tools.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineering on PPAP, APQP, and new product launch readiness.
- Support supplier‑related investigations and corrective action processes.
- Participate in internal audits, customer audits, and ISO certification audits.
- Champion a strong, proactive quality culture across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5-8 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and core quality tools (FMEA, SPC, PPAP, 8D).
- Experience working directly with global customers in a technical or quality capacity.
- Background in machining, metalworking, or assembly operations preferred.
- CQE or Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.
