A large, modern industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support site-wide environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. This facility is a high‑volume metals operation with complex processes, including water treatment systems, air permitting programs, and waste management operations.

The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for:
- Leading environmental compliance programs across air, water, waste, and radiation
- Owning and managing wastewater and stormwater programs, a key focus for the site
- Maintaining and improving the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Managing environmental permitting and reporting, including Title V, NPDES, and EPCRA/Form R
- Ensuring compliance with SPCC plans and all federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Tracking and managing waste generation, recycling, and energy usage
- Overseeing third-party contractors and conducting disposal/recycling vendor audits
- Interpreting and applying regulations including Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA
- Supporting environmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Building and maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies
- Partnering cross-functionally with operations and leadership to solve environmental challenges
- Delivering environmental training and promoting plant-wide engagement and awareness
- Supporting community outreach and sustainability initiatives
The Environmental Engineer will have the following qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience supporting environmental compliance programs
Preferred:
- Strong experience with wastewater and/or stormwater systems
- Experience with ISO 14001 EMS implementation or maintenance
- Knowledge of air pollution control, hazardous waste, or radiation safety
- Familiarity with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA regulations
- Experience with Title V and/or NPDES permitting
- Strong communication and ability to influence across plant operations
- Ability to work in a high-accountability, performance-driven environment
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
