Job Title: Plant Manager
Summary
The Plant Manager is accountable and responsible for the polymer manufacturing operation at a U.S.-based facility in Atlanta, GA within a global industrial technology organization. This role requires a well‑rounded operational leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills, the initiative to build a high‑performing culture, and the ability to manage complex manufacturing processes in a job‑shop environment. The Plant Manager is responsible for driving safe operations, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and employee development while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant facility.
Key competencies include leadership, project management, customer focus, and a working knowledge of polymer or thermal spray coatings, surface treatment processes, and related finishing operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, environmental compliance, labor relations, and corporate governance. Conduct regular audits and reviews of compliance systems and stay current with regulatory changes.
- Own and manage all site management systems, including Quality Assurance, Safety, and Health. Ensure compliance with corporate and site policies, conduct audits, and drive corrective actions as needed.
- Communicate decisions and guidance on business matters, providing oversight for site‑level decisions and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term operational and staffing plans, aligned with corporate strategy and informed by industry, economic, technical, and environmental trends. This includes annual operational and sales planning.
- Evaluate current and future customer needs and ensure adequate resources, capacity, and staffing to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Lead, coach, and develop staff at all levels. Identify talent, provide development opportunities, and ensure succession planning for key roles.
- Provide management oversight on reporting requirements, including productivity, budget variance, performance metrics, and other key business indicators. Implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Develop, monitor, and control personnel plans, operating budgets, and site systems (equipment, hardware, and software) to ensure operational goals are met or exceeded. Manage capital expenditure planning, justification, and execution.
- Serve as a key liaison with corporate stakeholders and peer leaders to address day‑to‑day operations and cross‑functional issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Conduct regular audits and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience will be considered for candidates with a proven leadership record in manufacturing environments.
- 5-10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3-5 years in progressive leadership roles.
- Experience within surface treatment, coatings, or industrial manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
