Role Overview
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement across production operations. This role is responsible for evaluating manufacturing requirements, leading Lean initiatives, and managing projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and new equipment implementation.
The Manufacturing Engineer partners closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to optimize processes, support new product launches, and ensure consistent performance across all manufacturing lines.
- Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies aligned with strategic objectives
- Manage updates and enhancements to existing manufacturing processes to support new product launches
- Review engineering drawings and provide design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) input
- Create cost comparisons and return‑on‑investment (ROI) analyses to support supplier and equipment selection
- Serve as a subject matter expert for cross‑functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Establish standardized manufacturing processes and documentation to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
- Partner with Quality to develop control plans, in‑process checks, and inspection requirements
- Provide training and technical support to production teams on equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plans
- Analyze process data, generate reports, and present findings related to performance and improvement initiatives
- Support daily production needs to ensure KPI targets and standardized practices are met across all lines
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) efforts and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams on equipment changes and improvements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
Experience & Skills
- 5-10 years of experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and engineering practices, including Lean Manufacturing methodologies
- Proven experience leading Kaizen or continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T
- Proficiency with business and engineering software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SolidWorks)
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement mindset
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently or in team settings
- Ability to influence and lead teams without direct authority
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
