Lean Six Sigma Black Belt - Pulp & Paper Manufacturing
A leading organization in the pulp and paper manufacturing sector is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or Associate Black Belt) to serve as a strategic leader in operational excellence at its Somerset Mill location. This role is ideal for a seasoned Green Belt or Black Belt with a proven track record of delivering measurable business outcomes through Lean Six Sigma methodologies. The successful candidate will lead high-value, complex projects aimed at reducing both variable and fixed costs, while engaging with internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers. In addition to project leadership, the role involves coaching and mentoring Green Belts, facilitating change management, and delivering targeted training across all levels of the organization. The position requires strong influence and communication skills, mastery of Lean Six Sigma tools, and the ability to drive cultural transformation through continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and complete Lean Six Sigma projects on schedule, ensuring savings targets are met and documented.
- Mentor and coach Green Belts and cross-functional teams from project selection through execution and sustainability.
- Partner with mill leadership to identify improvement opportunities and support daily operational needs.
- Facilitate organizational Lean Six Sigma efforts including productivity reviews, pipeline management, and leadership-level reporting.
- Deliver specialized training and tool deployment across functional areas as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Belt certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence strategy, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
