Account Manager - Packaging and Printing Sales (Missouri or Illinois)
Company Summary: Our client is a privately owned, mid-sized printing and packaging company based out of Ohio who distributes corrugated packaging solutions, supplies, printing, graphics, and beverage solutions. The Account Executive will cover the Central IL and MO territory. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, this role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and driving sales of packaging and printing. This position plays a key role in supporting the sales strategy and will work collaboratively with both technical experts and production teams to ensure customer satisfaction and success.
The Account Executive has these key Responsibilities:
- Expanding our customer base and deepening relationships with current clients in the printing and packaging sectors.
- Identifying growth opportunities through detailed client profiling and strategic outreach.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients-conducting plant tours, attending press approvals, and maintaining regular communication.
- Collaborating with internal teams (estimating, design, customer service) to ensure smooth project execution.
- Preparing accurate quotes and proposals, and managing custom pricing approvals.
- Resolving billing and credit issues, and ensuring proper purchase order processing.
- Meeting or exceeding annual sales goals and contributing to forecasting efforts.
- Staying current with trends and innovations in print and packaging through ongoing learning.
The Account Executive should have the following qualifications:
- Have at least 3 years of sales experience in printing, packaging, or packaging supplies
- Hold a high school diploma (college degree preferred).
- Are a strategic thinker who uses data and analytics to guide decisions.
- Have a proven history of exceeding sales targets and building strong client relationships.
- Are skilled in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (Salesforce experience preferred).
- Communicate with confidence and clarity, and excel at negotiation.
- Possess strong math skills for pricing and commission calculations.
- Are proactive, independent, and thrive in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
