School Campus Security Officer - P/T Weekends

DSI is adding to its ranks in the Miami, FL area. Come join our fast-growing team as a Security Officer.

$18.00/hr.

This position requires a State of Florida Class D Security License.

Duties:

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for Students, Faculty, Parents, and Visitors, while providing general security duties to our client.
• Interact with a variety of persons including student, parents, clients, visitors, faculty as well as members of the general public.
• Following post specific instructions as well as the DSI General Post Orders/Guidance.
• Ability to work in all-weather elements.
• Promoting safety by being alert to observe, correct and report any hazards.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing mission related tasks and effective communication.

Responsibilities:

• We are seeking a team of dedicated individuals to serve as a Campus Security Officers.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors on school campuses.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as fights, medical emergencies, or other security breaches.
• Provide support and assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed.
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other security personnel to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
• Maintain visibility to ensure safety and deter unacceptable activities.
• Remain at your post until your replacement has arrived.
• Understanding and complying with DSI and Client requirements.
• Comprehensive understanding of DSI’s Code of Ethics and Employee Standard.
• Participate in training and become familiar with general safety procedures, as well as DSI’s safety manual.
• Attend and continue to receive security officer training as required by Client or DSI’s training program.
• Present oneself in a professional manner through appearance and conduct.

Position Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in security or law enforcement, preferably working with children and youth
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
• Be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State of Florida Class D Security License
• Have a valid driver's license
• Have reliable means of transportation and communication
• Pass all required background and drug screenings
• Be customer service oriented
• Intermediate computer skills
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Be able to perform routine foot patrol, mobile patrol, and do moderate lifting.
