We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have specialized skills in payroll coordination and be responsible for managing and processing payroll activities accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Branch office and support overall administrative functions
- Maintain clear communication with Branch Management regarding operational needs and issues
- Provide professional customer service to clients, employees, and internal departments
- Oversee timekeeping and attendance, including resolving discrepancies and corrections
- Coordinate officer schedules to ensure full post coverage and operational efficiency
- Process and maintain payroll data, ensuring accuracy of hours worked and pay records
- Ensure all compliance requirements and onboarding documentation are completed and entered prior to employees’ first shift
- Maintain accurate employee and payroll records within company systems
- Submit separation reports in a timely manner and ensure payroll system updates are current
Position Requirements:
- Experience in payroll, accounting, and workforce scheduling
- Management / supervisory experience is preferred
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- A friendly, customer service–oriented attitude
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Strong ability to manage schedules, coordinate staffing coverage, and adjust to operational needs
- Be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Pass all required background and drug screenings
