We are seeking a highly experienced Electron Beam Welding (EBW) Process Engineer to operate in a fast-paced, high-impact environment supporting product development, qualification, and production of advanced semiconductor equipment hardware.

This role will act as a technical authority in EBW, working cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to solve complex welding and metallurgical challenges impacting product performance and reliability.

🚀 Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the EBW subject matter expert for development, qualification, and production.
• Lead weld process development, including WPS creation, parameter optimization, and process window definition.
• Drive product development lifecycle from prototype to production and field support.
• Conduct metallurgical analysis, DOE, and failure investigations.
• Evaluate weld impacts on:
• Microstructure
• Heat-affected zones (HAZ)
• Distortion & residual stress
• Surface finish & downstream processes
• Collaborate with machining, coating, inspection, and manufacturing teams.
• Troubleshoot weld-related quality and reliability issues.
• Support cleanroom and semiconductor fab environments.
• Work with suppliers to qualify EBW capabilities.
• Provide data-driven technical recommendations.
• Travel up to 25%

🧠 Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in: Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering
• Hands-on experience with Electron Beam Welding (EBW).
• Strong knowledge of weld metallurgy (aluminum, ferrous, nickel alloys).
• Experience with:
• Weld procedure qualification (WPS/PQR)
• Inspection methods
• Process development & validation
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and experimental design skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration experience.

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

Experience in semiconductor / aerospace / defense / automotive industries.

Knowledge of DFM/DFA and manufacturing scale-up.

Familiarity with 3D models & engineering drawings.

Experience with standards:

ASME, AMS, AS, SEMI, MIL

Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt).

Experience auditing or qualifying EBW suppliers.
