Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and construction plans for transportation projects, including bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous transportation structures
- Develop conceptual designs and unique construction details for structural elements
- Generate precise rebar drawings and detailed dimensioning for structural components
- Serve as the group’s technical lead for software updates, ensuring all design tools are current and functioning optimally
- Stay at the forefront of industry best practices to implement more efficient workflows and CADD processes
- Maintain consistent coordination with Project Managers to ensure all deliverables align with project timelines and goals
- Ensure all work strictly adheres to proper FDOT CADD guidelines, standards, and procedures
- Manage electronic project files and folder structures in accordance with company and client filing standards
- Experience using a variety of CADD platforms that may include Open Bridge Modeler, Open Roads Designer, Microstation and/or AutoCAD
- Ability to assist with development of 3D models using both Open Bridge Modeler and Open Roads Designer
- Familiarity with plans detailing for FDOT bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous transportation structures is preferred
- Familiarity with FDOT CADD Manual is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school
- 3 years of prior drafting experience for transportation projects; drafting experience for transportation structures is a plus
- 1-3 years of experience will be evaluated if applicant has a degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field
- Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field is preferred
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and exhibits
