Description:
1. Operational Leadership
- This position will have a heavy focus on Food and Beverage operations
- Oversee the daily operations of all hotel departments, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Sales (if applicable)
- Lead operational meetings and coordinate interdepartmental communication to ensure smooth workflow
- Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety standards, brand expectations, and company policies
- Monitor and evaluate service levels, cleanliness, efficiency, and guest experience across the property
2. Guest Service Excellence
- Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) during peak periods or in the GM’s absence
- Proactively engage with guests to anticipate needs, address complaints, and resolve escalated service issues
- Analyze guest satisfaction reports (e.g., Medallia, Revinate, TripAdvisor) to identify service gaps and implement corrective action
- Develop and implement programs that elevate guest loyalty and satisfaction
3. Staff Supervision & Development
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, and evaluating department managers and line-level staff
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to improve individual and team performance
- Maintain effective labor management practices, including scheduling, payroll control, and staff motivation
- Foster a positive workplace culture that aligns with the company’s values and promotes staff engagement and retention
4. Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Support the GM in preparing annual budgets, forecasting, and analyzing financial performance metrics (e.g., GOP, RevPAR, ADR, occupancy)
- Review daily revenue reports, cost control measures, and department expense management
- Assist with purchasing, inventory control, vendor negotiations, and contract management
- Ensure compliance with local health, labor, and safety regulation
5. Sales, Marketing & Business Development
- Support execution of marketing initiatives, group sales strategies, and promotional activities
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify revenue opportunities and enhance visibility in the local market
- Represent the hotel at industry events, community functions, or meetings when needed
6. Crisis Management & Safety
- Act as a leader during emergencies, including fire alarms, power outages, or guest-related incidents
- Ensure the hotel maintains a high standard of safety and cleanliness
- Regularly conduct safety drills and ensure compliance with OSHA and local safety regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Career progression including previous Food and Beverage Director experience is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of progressive hotel management experience; prior AGM or senior department head experience preferred
- Proficiency in hotel PMS (e.g., Lightspeed), Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling systems
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong leadership presence and ability to motivate diverse teams
- Financial literacy and ability to interpret hotel performance data
