CDL A delivery driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a professional CDL A Delivery Driver to join our logistics team. This role involves operating tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely across various routes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering goods promptly, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards, and ensuring the proper handling of cargo. Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and fuel efficiency.
• Load, secure, and unload freight following proper manual handling procedures.
• Deliver freight to various locations while maintaining adherence to scheduled delivery times.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes.
• Ensure proper documentation for freight loading/unloading and complete necessary paperwork accurately.
• Follow all safety protocols during truck loading/unloading activities and manual handling tasks.

Skills

• Proven experience operating commercial trucks with manual transmission in various environments.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and route planning for efficient deliveries.
• Strong understanding of FMCSA & DOT regulations
• Ability to load/unload freight safely using manual handling techniques; experience with truck loading/unloading equipment is a plus.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; previous delivery driver experience preferred.
• Ability to comply with all safety standards related to trucking operations including hazardous materials regulations.
• Strong communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and clients.
• Physical stamina for manual handling tasks associated with freight transportation.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
