General Responsibilities:
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs and upkeep on a building's structures, systems, and equipment, including tasks like plumbing, electrical, HVAC maintenance, painting, carpentry, minor repairs, responding to maintenance requests, conducting preventative maintenance checks, and ensuring the overall functionality and safety of the building facilities.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responding to maintenance requests: Addressing repair requests including plumbing leaks, electrical malfunctions, faulty fixtures, and minor structural issues.
- General repairs: Performing basic repairs like patching drywall, fixing leaky faucets, replacing light bulbs, repairing doors and windows, and addressing minor cosmetic issues.
- Painting and cleaning: Maintaining the appearance of the building by painting walls, ceilings, and trim, as well as cleaning common areas and exterior surfaces.
- Carpentry work: Making minor carpentry repairs like replacing trim, fixing cabinet doors, and building simple structures
- Exterior maintenance: Maintaining grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and debris clean-up
- Equipment maintenance: Regularly checking and servicing building equipment
- Safety checks: Performing routine safety inspections and ensuring compliance with building codes
- Documentation and reporting: Maintaining records of maintenance activities, repairs completed, and identifying potential issues
Required skills and qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and carpentry
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common building maintenance issues
- Hand and power tool proficiency
- Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting, climbing, and bending
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compensation & Benefits:
- $22 - $27 per hour
- Full-Time 8:00AM – 5:00PM
