Position Summary:
The Senior Tax Manager will oversee complex federal and international tax compliance and consulting engagements for mid-size clients. This role is responsible for managing engagement teams, reviewing highly technical federal and cross-border calculations and filings, advising clients on federal and international tax matters, and supporting Directors, Principals and Partners in delivering high-quality services.
The Senior Tax Manager plays a critical role in ensuring technical accuracy, managing client relationships, and mentoring staff while contributing to the overall growth and strength of the Firm’s tax practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review complex U.S. international tax filings, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, 8992, 8993 (GILTI / FDII), 1118, 1116, and 926, as well as related outbound reporting.
- Oversee calculations related to Subpart F income, GILTI tested income, QBAI, E&P, PTEP tracking, and basis adjustments.
- Review international components of U.S. consolidated income tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with filing deadlines and firm documentation standards.
- Perform advanced technical reviews of tax workpapers and returns.
- Supervise and mentor tax team members to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely delivery of all engagements.
- Oversee preparation and review of U.S. income tax returns for corporate, partnership, and individual clients.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the firm’s growth and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Partners, Principals, and Directors to assess risks, resolve technical issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Stay current on U.S. international tax developments and IRS regulations.
Qualifications:
- CPA license required
- Master of Taxation (MST), Juris Doctor (JD), or LL.M. in Taxation preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in domestic and/or international tax within public accounting.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, U.S. international tax reporting, accounting standards, and tax research methodologies.
- Experience with state and local taxes (SALT) and sales & use tax is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills, with excellent time management capabilities.
- Proficiency in tax, accounting, and financial software, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.
