Driveline Service of Portland is recognized as a leading provider of advanced drive-shaft design, manufacturing, and repair services for a wide spectrum of marine, military, and industrial applications. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue and market share for the company. This role requires strong technical expertise in power transmission systems, an in-depth understanding of driveshaft applications and proven experience in managing customer relationships across various industries.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Technical Sales & Proposal Development: Develop detailed technical proposals for customer review, ensuring alignment with application requirements. Deliver technical presentations and value-based proposals that differentiate the company’s solutions in terms of performance, reliability, and lifecycle cost.
- Customer Growth & Market Expansion: Proactively identify and pursue new customers across marine, paper, steel, military, and other industrial industries. Convert competitor products through technical differentiation, lifecycle cost savings, proven product reliability, and localized customer support.
- Pricing & Quoting Strategy: Generate accurate cost models that incorporate material selection, manufacturing processes, and cost margins. Collaborate with sales leadership to develop competitive proposals that secure new accounts while maintaining profitability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between customers, engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring technical intent and production feasibility are aligned with customer requirements. Provide field feedback to support product improvement and future design innovations.
- Continuous Improvement & Market Feedback: Gather and analyze market intelligence on competitive products, customer challenges, and emerging products and applications.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, project milestones, and sales pipeline development. Provide regular updates on new business acquisitions, regional performance, and market share growth.
Experience and Skills:
· 5 years of technical sales experience in automotive, driveline, or power transmission components.
· Technical communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and professionally to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and colleagues.
· Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and rotating components.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects, priorities, and customer deadlines.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (formulas, data organization), Outlook (email/calendar), Word (technical documentation), and Teams (customer meetings).
· Willingness to travel a minimum of 50% within the regional territory.
