It’s the start of your shift. You review the process sheet, pull the correct material, and prepare a Davenport multi-spindle for changeover. You choose tooling, set feeds and speeds, and run a first-article. With an optical comparator and precision gages, you verify every feature and capture results in SPC charts. Throughout the run, you keep records clean (lot splits, job card/scanner entries, suspect sheets), move parts to the next operation, and keep machines lubricated, cleaned, and free of chips. When something unexpected pops up, you troubleshoot, loop in maintenance or engineering, and get production back on track—safely and efficiently.

How you’ll contribute
- Own set-up and operation of Davenport screw machines to meet spec and schedule.
- Read and apply shop drawings, process sheets, and procedures.
- Use precision measuring instruments and QC software; maintain attribute/SPC charts.
- Document materials and route parts correctly to the next operation.
- Perform daily machine care: lubrication, cleaning, chip removal.
- Select proper tools and materials; perform minor maintenance and adjustments.
- Partner with supervisor, engineering, and maintenance for problem solving.
- Keep a tidy, safe work area and support other machines as needed.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; typically 1–3 years related experience. Comfortable with reading, writing, and shop math.
- Language: Ability to read/interpret drawings, process sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; strong communicator.
- Math: Proficient with whole numbers, fractions, decimals; capable of holding close tolerances.
- Reasoning: Practical problem solver with flexibility; able to interpret written/oral/diagram/schedule instructions; respectful, team-oriented approach.
- Computer: Able to learn Driv-Lok computer systems.
- Certificates/Licenses: None required.
- Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
