Provide temporary and emergency care for sick and injured students or staff according to district policy and procedures.
• Current RN License to practice in Texas
• Current CPR/BLS/AED certification
• Strong emergency assessment skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for conveying information to parents, teachers, and administrators about student illness as needed
• Excellent documentation skills
• Experience in diabetic care, seizures, and asthma management
• One year of acute care or school nursing experience
1. Provide temporary and emergency care for sick and injured students or staff according to district policy and procedures.
2. Notify parents of accident or illness and secure medical care for students in emergency cases (if parents or emergency contact cannot be reached).
3. Administer medications according to district policy and procedures.
4. Serve as a health advocate for students.

Working Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress in a multitask environment with frequent interruptions. Exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases.
Equipment Used: Thermometer, audiometer, otoscope, sphygmomanometer, vision screening equipment, basic clinic equipment, personal computer, and copier.
