Duties
- Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and standards
- Assist in assembling dishes with attention to presentation and quality control
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grill and slicers Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming meals or catering events
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service
- Maintain accurate food handling practices and adhere to dietary guidelines and safety standards in production
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, including knife skills and slicing methods
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Experience with food safety management and maintaining hygiene standards
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while ensuring consistency in meal quality
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen team members
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
