Overview
Drill-Tech is seeking a Mobile HDD Equipment Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair horizontal directional drilling equipment and support equipment throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
This position is responsible for keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues, and completing repairs in both the field and shop as needed.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HDD equipment in the field and shop
- Perform preventative maintenance on drilling equipment and support equipment
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Service Vermeer directional drills and related equipment
- Perform emergency field repairs to minimize equipment downtime
- Maintain maintenance records and communicate repair needs
- Coordinate with field crews regarding equipment status
- Travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic to support active projects
Qualifications
- 5 years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing Vermeer HDD equipment
- Experience working on directional drills, mud systems, pumps, recyclers, and support equipment
- Experience with CASE construction equipment
- CDL Class A
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Experience maintaining larger HDD rigs and related equipment
