The HR Coordinator will assist the Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) throughout the Northern California market on various HR matters and provide overall administrative support for the field Human Resources department including but not limited to the following key responsibilities...
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR Administration
- Provide information to third party administrator of unemployment compensation as well as coordinate with restaurant management regarding unemployment claims.
- Attend meetings, as required, to record, prepare, and distribute approved minutes.
- Provide administrative support to the HRBPs as needed by scheduling meetings and appointments, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries from Employees and managers.
- Draft offer letters and ensure onboarding process completion of new hires
- Respond to employee request for records and employment verification requests
- Assist with HR related project deliverables as assigned.
Employee Relations/Investigations
- Assist HRBP in assigned market in HR investigations with initial employee complaint intake, gathering witness statements, and ensuring company established procedures/forms are used.
- Schedule all meetings related to employee investigations
- Prepare Employee files to provide to any requesting government agencies or assigned outside counsel on litigated matters as required.
HRIS, Reporting, Record-Keeping Compliance
- Create and label all new employee files, scan documents into an employee’s electronic file, and log Employee Relations cases into the case management system.
- Assist HRBP with processing pay rate increases into the HRIS/Payroll system for compliance with statement minimum wage increases, annual reviews, and off-cycle promotional/competitive rate changes.
- Review all disciplinary actions to ensure discipline is issued accurately and timely. Report any issues or errors to the assigned HRBP and/or department management.
- Process all suspension pending investigation and termination paperwork, update the employee’s status accordingly in the HR system.
- Establish and run various reports to ensure HR compliance such as active-no pay reports, training reports, meal/rest break execution, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least three (3) year experience in Human Resources or related customer service position in similar environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of California labor laws strongly preferred
- Prior employee/labor relations experience preferred
- Ability to perform basic math
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time in an office environment
- Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25lbs.
- Eye/hand coordination required to operate standard office equipment.
