Duties
- Mow lawns using power mowers, ensuring even cutting and proper height adjustment for different turf types
- Operate landscape maintenance equipment such as trimmers, blowers, edgers, and hand tools to shape and refine outdoor spaces
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure optimal watering schedules
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and weeds to support healthy landscaping practices
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including pruning, trimming, planting, mulching, and hardscape installation
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all grounds maintenance activities to prevent accidents and injuries
- Assist with snow plowing and removal during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for visitors
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of lawn care and landscaping equipment operation
- Experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, and groundskeeping techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction-related equipment used in outdoor projects
- Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture principles, and pesticide management procedures
- Ability to perform irrigation system repairs and manage irrigation schedules effectively
