Employment Specialist

Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network is a non-profit agency seeking a Full Time, Bilingual, EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST to work with individuals with disabilities to find community employment within Yolo County. Our agency provides assessments, job preparation, job placement and coaching to youth and adults with limitations and disabilities referred from State Department of Rehabilitation in Woodland.

The position requires experience working with individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and/or community employment development.

• A minimum of an Associate degree.
• Experience with Case Management and/or heavy documentation is required.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Experience providing workforce development/employment assistance to other is necessary. Sales experience is helpful.
• Bilingual in Spanish is required. Must be able to speak fluently.
• Valid Driver’s License and vehicle.

We are looking for someone who is highly organized and detail orientated, able to work independently as well as with a team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, reliable, good communicator, a self-starter and passionate about giving back to the community. Flexibility is critical in providing services to our clients but also to meet the demands of the position. Candidates must be able to manage a case load of approximately 25 individuals who are in a variety of different services each with varying documentation requirements. Staff are supported by a larger team but work independently with clients assigned to case load.

Candidates must be computer-literate (typing and utilizing software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) and be able to effectively communicate information in both oral and written forms. Position has heavy documentation with case notes and monthly reports. Applicants must be able to present and exchange information internally across teams and co-workers, and externally with clients and the public. Organization and time management, with specific deadlines to manage, are essential for this position.

This position will interface and act as a liaison to persons serviced, the business community and state/county agencies. Candidates must be able to travel and maneuver within the community to meet clients and employers at various locations on a daily basis. Services are based out Yolo County however travel to other counties is occasionally required for meetings and events.
