About the Job

We’re looking for a creative and knowledgeable Video Editor to edit and deliver vertical series episodes for the DramaBox app. In this role, you’ll bring expertise in current English-language vertical drama trends, ensuring our content reflects the latest market shifts and resonates with audiences.

DramaBox is an innovative leader in mobile streaming, offering a wide selection of on-demand TV shows, movies, and short films designed to captivate audiences worldwide. At DramaBox, we’re passionate about redefining the storytelling experience for a digital-first world, bringing together talented creatives and tech-savvy professionals to shape the future of entertainment. Joining DramaBox means becoming part of a collaborative, fast-growing team dedicated to pushing boundaries and creating impactful, original content for diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit full episodes and trailers for the DramaBox app, delivering engaging, emotionally-driven content optimized for vertical viewing.
  • Cut with a focus on pacing, clarity, and impact — getting to the point quickly and leading visually.
  • Mix sound internally using company-provided AI tools, ensuring dialogue, music, VO, and SFX are balanced and clear.
  • Create and format subtitles directly in the timeline using AI-assisted tools, with attention to timing and readability.
  • Export final episodes in 1080x1920 vertical format (.mp4) with clean stereo mixes and no burn-in subtitles.
  • Manage VFX and color workflows, including turnovers, applying final elements, and mastering reels using 2K proxies.
  • Conduct initial QC, checking audio sync, subtitle accuracy, cut flow, and final output quality.
  • Review and provide feedback on video drafts as needed.
  • Stay current on trends in vertical content and short-form storytelling to continuously improve output.
  • Collaborate with production and post teams across multiple time zones, maintaining open and timely communication.
  • Ensure all content aligns with DramaBox’s brand, tone, and creative direction.

Note: This role is dynamic and may evolve. Responsibilities are not limited to the items listed above and may expand based on project needs and team goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, animation, visual effects, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience editing vertical series or short-form video, ideally for social media or mobile-first platforms.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve (plus).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to high-quality standards.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • A keen eye for pairing music with storytelling to enhance viewer engagement.
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience is an asset.

Why Join Us

  • Help shape the visual style of one of the fastest-growing mobile entertainment platforms.
  • Work at the forefront of vertical storytelling and digital-first content.
  • Collaborate with global production and post-production teams in a creative, supportive environment.
