Position Summary:
The Production Controller is responsible for developing, executing, and managing the analysis, planning, scheduling, logistics, and associated system controls for the assigned work centers or product group(s). This includes prioritization and allocation of resources, materials, machinery, suppliers, for the overall production process and acts as the key liaison between sales, production, purchasing, and quality to translate orders and forecast into actionable production plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary desk top office environment with frequent industrial shop exposure. High level ERP system and material/document interface. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of product is required. Normal work schedule is Mon.– Fri. 8:30 am-5:30 pm, with some flexibility for workload or projects.

Position Summary:

This includes prioritization and allocation of resources, materials, machinery, suppliers, for the overall production process and acts as the key liaison between sales, production, purchasing, and quality to translate orders and forecast into actionable production plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning – compile incoming customer orders to establish production demands and relevant work orders for production work centers and resources (materials, equipment, personnel, etc.)
- Controls – develop and manage the ERP system transactional, functional, and cost controls related to maintaining data accuracy and production efficiency.
- Routing – determine the movement path(s) and operational sequence of converting raw materials into finished goods, including outsourcing and work transfer
- Scheduling – coordinate and communicate operational lead times, planned start/completion times, and production priorities
- Capacity and Loading – manage work center capacity/forecast and the workload allocation for relevant machines and resources
- Dispatching and expediting – releasing available orders, tools, materials, and work instructions, then following up on the pace daily to eliminate bottlenecks, delays, or schedule deviations
- Support day-to-day production planning and ERP system transactions, from order to shipment
- Establish and support the ERP system operational methods and controls
- Manage open order reports and establish work process flow with relevant department leads
- Insure complete job document packages; travelers, drawings, process checklists, BOM’s, etc.
- Insure accurate ERP system production data entry, material transactions, and cost capturing
- Collaboration with Production Managers/Customer Service/Sales to maintain production schedules
- Develop, maintain, and report on Production Performance KPIs
- Support and cross-train with other Operations Teams as required
- 3-5 years Manufacturing production planning experience, with strong understanding of machining processes, shop scheduling, and workflow management
- Degree in Supply Chain/Industrial Eng. or APICS CPIM body of knowledge exposure/certification
- Analytical thinker and problem solver related to ERP/MES production systems and processes
- Ability to focus on the (order) details without losing sight of the bigger (production) picture
- Willingness and desire to listen, learn, and cross-train with team members for continuous growth
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including manufacturing / product content
- Proficient Software skills: SAP B1 ERP, MS Office
