What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time preschool teacher MWF Morning Program position at Dragonfly Preschool?
Work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:45 am until 1:15 pm with the option of substituting on Tuesdays and Thursdays as needed.
We are looking for someone who loves children to join our small home-based preschool. We have a small ratio of 2 teachers to 13 students and work as co-teachers. We (mostly) follow PPS schedule for holidays and vacation days so you can be assured to have fall, winter, and spring breaks as time in the summer off.
Your role as a preschool teacher would be to:
- Work as a partner to facilitate a play based experience for 2-5 year olds in a mixed age classroom.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging activities.
- Teach basic academic skills such as letters, numbers, shapes, and colors.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
Qualifications:
-Responsible, reliable, and willing to commit for at least a year.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Knowledge and willingness to learn about child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
-Enrolled in Oregon’s Central Background Registry.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Pay: Starting at $21.00-$24 per hour
