Dog Bather

Position: Pet Bather, Light Grooming
Location: McMinnville, TN
Compensation: $10 or more based on experience, 40 hours per week (full-time) and 25-30 hours per week (part-time)

We are a locally owned pet and reptile specialty store looking for a dependable, patient, and quality-focused Pet Bather to join our team. This role requires consistency, kindness toward animals, and pride in producing professional quality grooms.

Important

We strongly prefer in-person applicants who can stop by the store to fill out an application or introduce themselves.

Responsibilities

• Perform full grooms including bathing, brushing, de-shedding, clipping, and trimming
• Complete nail trims, ear cleaning, and sanitary services
• Safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
• Maintain a calm, clean, and safe grooming environment
• Communicate clearly with pet owners and team members
• Follow store sanitation procedures and grooming SOPs
• Clean grooming area between appointments
• Maintain accurate notes on grooms and services provided

Requirements

• Experience:
• No grooming experience required — we will train the right candidate.
• Prior grooming or animal handling experience is helpful but not required.
• Physical:
• Able to lift 40–50 lbs
• Able to stand on feet continuously throughout the shift
• Comfortable handling small and large breed dogs
• Professional:
• Patient, gentle, and kind with animals
• Punctual and reliable—consistent attendance required
• Diligent with attention to detail and quality work
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain sanitation standards
• Team-oriented, low-drama attitude

Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• Must be able to work assigned schedule consistently
• Must communicate absences in advance whenever possible
