Associate I

Summary:

The Associate I role is responsible for learning and applying his/her technical skills and working as part of a team carrying out tasks under close coaching and supervision. 

Essential Functions: 

Serve as a support staff on audit engagements including but not limited to the following:

• Carry out audit procedures for assigned audit areas based on audit program steps.
• Interact with audit client to gather information.
• Review client information and apply audit procedures.
• Prepare audit work papers and analyze client information,
• Follow up with client as necessary for additional information.
• Assist in preparing proposed adjusting journal entries.
• Assist in preparing GAAP based financial statements. 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Accounting (Master of Accounting preferred)
• 0 to 2 years of public accounting experience
• CPA eligible
• Knowledge of GAAP regulations and principles
• Developing technical knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize and analyze data and provide accurate findings.  
• A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas.
