Optometric Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a team member who is reliable, has great phone etiquette, and has excellent in person communication skills.

• Front and back office management
• Proficient computer skills in order to work with electronic medical records and on-line appointment scheduling
• Working with eye health and eye care
• Pretesting patients for eye doctors
• Patient education of eye health and eye care
• Filling insurance claims and collection of co-pays and insurance balances
• Managing patient experience from check-in to check-out including patient registration
• Handling contact lenses and inventory
• Maintenance and upkeep of healthcare office including exam rooms, pre-test rooms, contact lens area, reception area and all common areas
• Transition patients to optical dispensary
• Managing patient phone calls and scheduling appointments-both current and future appointments
• Working with co-workers and eye doctors in an efficient, respectful and caring environment
• Safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and staff information
• Medical records processing
• Handling correspondence
• Appointment call reminders
• Data entry of patient and insurance demographics
• Other office related tasks

Job Requirements

-Outstanding Customer Service

-Basic medical office, patient care and phone skills

-Non-smoking office

-Professional, pleasant and clear phone voice etiquette communication

-Must be able to pass a criminal background check or drug test
