We have an opportunity for a Part time/full time Front Desk Receptionist/Ophthalmic Technician for our established and fast-growing optometry practice with a team-focused culture. If you are a people person and enjoy multi-tasking throughout the day, you will be a good fit! This candidate should be a great communicator and someone with the right attitude to learn quickly. The candidate must have excellent customer service attitude and be a strong team player. Eyecare and Optometric experience is required. Experience in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
As a Front Desk Receptionist/Ophthalmic Technician, you will work up patients in preparation to see the providers. Tasks include patient documentation throughout the visit, testing using a variety of clinical equipment, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring patient and insurance billing is accurate. You will work daily with patients, doctors and office staff. A people focused attitude is a must.
Responsibilities
- Accurately document examination findings in the electronic medical record
- Assess patient needs and keep patients flowing through the office, altering the test sequence as required
- Educate and sell additional services or products that may be beneficial to a patient
- Schedule patients over the phone and in person
- Complete patient check-in and check-out processes in the electronic medical record
- Process product orders accurately with vendors
- Develop inventory management processes to ensure timely reorder of supplies
- Ensure accurate insurance and patient billing
Qualifications
- 1-2 year of applicable experience
- Proven customer service skills required
- High School Diploma, College Degree Preferred
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft–based software
