Front Desk Receptionist / Opthalmic Technician
Dr. Skeete & Associates, P.C. is a busy, patient-focused eye clinic open 7 days a week. We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and professional team member to join our amazing staff!
The ideal candidate is warm, organized, dependable, and enjoys helping patients feel welcomed and cared for in a professional healthcare setting.
Schedule & Availability
- Must work weekends:
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday: 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Must be open during the week:
- Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Position Details
- This is a part-time position (20–28 hours per week) with a rotating schedule.
- Will be scheduled 1–2 weekdays per week based on clinic needs and your availability.
- Will be scheduled Saturday's and Sunday's
- Combination of weekend and weekday shifts
Front Office Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients
- Answer phones with professionalism and warmth
- Schedule and confirm appointments and follow-ups
- Update Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Verify insurance and authorizations
- Process co-pays and billing
- File insurance claims
- Sell contact lens supplies and supplements
- Support general front desk and office tasks
Clinical Responsibilities
- Pretest patients (visual acuity, eye pressure, etc.)
- Take patient medical histories
- Prepare patients for eye exams
- Educate patients on eye care and contact lens use
- Manage contact lens orders and inventory
- Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and equipment
Requirements
- Punctual and reliable transportation
- Background check and/or drug screening required
- Warm, professional, and patient-focused demeanor
Preferred Skills
- Prior optometric experience (training available)
- Front desk office expierence
- Medical office expierence
- Spanish-speaking preferred
- Local candidates strongly preferred
