As a Dental Hygienist, you’ll deliver preventive and general dental care while helping patients understand how to maintain their oral health. You’ll assess patient needs, provide clear education, and work closely with the dental team to support safe, comfortable visits. Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, assess oral health, record vital signs, and document findings in electronic health records (EHR).
- Take dental X-rays and other medical images as authorized, following established safety and infection-control procedures.
- Educate patients, including children and families, on dental care, preventive practices, and treatment recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain dental equipment; apply aseptic technique and infection prevention and control practices.
- Coordinate with dentists and clinical staff using four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting practices as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: Current dental hygienist license or other credentials required by applicable state law.
- Experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, a dental office, or a dental clinic is valued; familiarity with pediatrics is helpful.
- Knowledge of dental and medical terminology, anatomy, patient care, and patient assessment.
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records, review documentation, and protect confidentiality through Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance.
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) or EHR systems, such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, is preferred; familiarity with medical coding, dental assisting, and healthcare infection prevention is a plus.
Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour
