Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Overview

As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you’ll deliver preventive and patient-centered dental care in a general dentistry setting, helping patients understand their oral health and feel confident about their care. You’ll assess patients, provide hygiene services, document findings, and work closely with the dental team. Responsibilities

• Assess patient health, record vital signs, review medical records, and document findings in electronic health records (EHR) or other electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Provide dental hygiene care, take dental X-rays, and use medical imaging and dental equipment according to established procedures.
• Educate patients on dental care, including pediatric dentistry and age-appropriate care for children.
• Coordinate with dentists and staff through four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting as needed.
• Follow infection control, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention and control practices; protect confidentiality and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Experience

• Registered Dental Hygienist qualification and any required state licensure.
• Dental office or dental clinic experience; familiarity with general dentistry, pediatrics, and patient care.
• Knowledge of dental and medical terminology, anatomy, patient assessment, documentation review, and medical coding.
• Experience with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, EMR/EHR systems, electronic health records management, dental X-rays, and dental assisting is helpful.
• Strong client communication skills and a commitment to patient confidentiality, infection prevention management, and HIPAA compliance.

Pay: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
