Duties
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice management, payment processing, and collections.
- Prepare journal entries for various financial transactions, including payroll, taxes, and other adjustments.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to ensure financial data integrity.
- Manage payroll processing accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Generate detailed financial reports and assist in budgeting activities to support strategic decision-making within the medical practice.
- Handle governmental accounting requirements related to healthcare funding or grants when applicable.
- Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions, supporting audit readiness and transparency.
- Assist with tax preparation by organizing financial data and supporting documentation as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping within a medical or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms is essential.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices (if applicable), and governmental accounting standards is advantageous.
- Familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation processes is required.
- Experience with financial report writing, budget management, and account analysis will set candidates apart.
- Prior work in public accounting or public health environments is a plus but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently along with bank reconciliation skills is desirable.
