- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures utilizing CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems
- Review medical records for completeness and accuracy to support billing processes
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through healthcare claims management to maximize reimbursement
- Maintain detailed patient records within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Answer patient inquiries at the front desk with professionalism, providing excellent customer service while managing appointment scheduling and check-in/check-out procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing details and ensure proper documentation for all services rendered
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office administration or medical billing, with familiarity using billing software and EMR/EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of healthcare claims management, health insurance procedures, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes
- Expertise in CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), DRG, and medical coding standards
