Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out
- Schedule appointments using various EHR systems such as Epic and AdvancedMD
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification
- Manage patient intake forms, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette to address patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately
- Assist with medical billing and collections
- Maintain organized filing of medical records, lab results, and other sensitive documents in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support front desk operations by managing appointment reminders, patient check-ins, and scheduling follow-ups
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure smooth clinic flow
- Use Microsoft Office tools to generate reports and update administrative records as needed
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is essential, preferably in clinics or dental offices
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
- Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and private insurers
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical expertise
- Familiarity with office management software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is required
- Previous experience handling multi-line phones, filing systems (digital and paper), and health information management tasks
