Position Overview:
The 1st Grade ELA Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality English Language Arts instruction that develops foundational literacy skills including reading, writing, phonics, and vocabulary. The teacher will assess student progress toward Wisconsin ELA standards and collaborate with colleagues, school leaders, and families to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment where all scholars build strong communication and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implement engaging, standards-aligned ELA lessons focused on reading, writing, phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension based on Wisconsin Academic Standards for 1st grade

Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and evaluate student learning and literacy development

Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including emergent readers and students with varying literacy needs
