Job Summary
The Benefits Enrollment Specialist is responsible for educating employees on available benefit options and guiding them through the enrollment process with accuracy, professionalism, and care. This role serves as a key liaison between employees, employers, and insurance carriers to ensure benefit elections are completed correctly and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and group benefit enrollment meetings (in-person, virtual, or by phone)
- Educate employees on benefit options including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits
- Explain plan features, coverage levels, costs, and eligibility in a clear and understandable manner
- Assist employees with new hire enrollments, open enrollment, life event changes, and terminations
- Ensure accurate data entry and timely submission of enrollment elections
- Maintain compliance with company policies, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with employers, HR teams, and insurance carriers
- Resolve enrollment issues and follow up on pending items
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of enrollments and employee interactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Previous experience in benefits administration, HR, insurance, or enrollment services preferred
- Knowledge of employee benefits and insurance products is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency with enrollment platforms, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office
