Eye Care Assistant

Dr. Brian Lee, Optometry is an optometry office located inside Walmart (3450 Cypress Creek Pkway) near Willowbrook in Houston, TX. We are professional, fast-paced and customer-centric. We are expanding to a 2nd location at 21150 Kuykendahl Rd (FM 2920 and Kuykendahl) and need to add capable team members!
This is a great opportunity to get customer service experience and medical experience. Since the two locations are within 15 mins drive of each other - there is potential for you to help out at TWO locations and play a vital role in running an optometry practice.

Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors at the front desk and check in the patient for appointment.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records using online scheduling software.
- Connect with patients by answering phone calls, returning voicemails, returning text messages.
-help keep our digital desktop organized by naming PDF files according to protocol and scanning documents as needed.
- Pre-Test patients: take patients through screening tests and asking them their medical history and recording their responses.
-Be a Key holder: some days you will need to open the office and get everything running before I get there and sometimes you may need to close the office if I need to be at the other location.

Work Schedule: Most of the work hours will be at 21150 Kuykendahl. You could probably expect 15 hrs a week with opportunities for additional hours depending on holidays and fill in hours. The regular work days would be Tues/Wed/Thurs/ some Friday/ some Sat. I do expect this position to grow in hours. Since we are expected to match Walmart's yearly schedule, we will be open nearly every week of the year.

Opportunities at 3450 Cypress Creek Pkwy location:
There is opportunity for more hours at the 3450 cypress creek location during certain high tide months of the year or as a fill in for another team member. There is opportunity for more hours and bonus pay if you are available for Sundays (most likely around 12-5pm). Sundays TBD if I can find an optometrist to work that day.

Requirements:
-High School or college diploma.
- Previous experience in a medical setting is NOT required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
-Spanish: adequate to fluent level is highly preferred.
-Proficient with Mac OS, windows 11, iMessage, Gmail suite

Work Environment: I like to hire very capable individuals that move well in a changing environment and can make the patient experience pleasant. I do expect (once trained) you to perform well on your own and not require much supervision. For every shift of 4-6 hours you will get a paid 15 min break. I'd rather hire a smaller team and pay them better than hire a lot of employees and have too much redundancy. This affords you the opportunity to have a big impact on the growth of a small business. Once I get to know your strengths, I will look to utilize them to help the patients that are receiving our care.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
