What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Assistant position at Lakeshore Eye Care?
Lakeshore Eye Care is a private practice located at the Boardwalk in Towne Lake. We are seeking to add an optometric assistant who shares the same work ethic and qualities as the rest of our exceptional team.
The ideal candidate is punctual, reliable, shows initiative, and maintains a caring and professional demeanor with our patients.
Office hours are as follows:
- Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday 8am-5pm
- Tuesday 9am-6pm
- Saturday 9am-3pm
Our optometric assistants are cross-trained in all areas of the office, work closely with the doctors and patients and are ready to jump in wherever needed. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Pre-testing (VAs, ICare, autorefractor, retinal imaging, OCT, visual field, color vision, stereo, etc.)
- Assisting patients with frame and lens selection, sunglasses, and contact lens care and training
- Front desk duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits, etc., and office cleanliness
Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a passion for helping others and has excellent communication and organizational skills.

Base Pay: From $16.50 per hour
