Duties
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites by clearing debris and setting up safety barriers
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to move materials and prepare surfaces for paving
- Support asphalt paving and repairs activities by spreading and leveling asphalt using appropriate tools and machinery
- Locate underground utilities accurately before excavation or paving work begins to prevent damage or accidents
- Help with the loading and unloading of materials using loaders and other heavy equipment
- Follow all safety protocols on-site to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members
Skills
- Knowledge of asphalt paving and repairing processes and construction site procedures
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards and practices
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in heavy equipment operation and paving techniques
