The Louisiana State Police is a statutorily mandated, statewide law enforcement agency charged with ensuring the safety, order, and security of the people in the state through enforcement, regulation, education, and provision of other essential public safety services.
The Louisiana State Police Technology and Business Support (TBS) Section / Data Team was developed to optimize the efficient and innovative use of the most advanced technology and processes available to analyze and report operational data. We’re looking for a Business Technology Analyst to maximize data analysis and use of technology platforms to improve the Department’s efficiency, performance, and service to the citizens of Louisiana.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in information technology, project management or business analysis; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in information technology, project management or business analysis; OR
An associate’s degree in information technology plus one year of experience in information technology, project management or business analysis; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in information technology, project management or business analysis; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field; OR
A master’s degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
To maximize data analysis and use of technology platforms to improve the Department’s efficiency, performance, and service to the citizens of Louisiana. In this role, you will:
- Conduct in-platform reviews of data, “clean” data to ensure information is being captured correctly and in a manner suitable for analysis.
- Analyze data using Mark43 Analytics, Axon Analytics, Pulse Analytics, Tableau and ArcGIS.
- Assist Specialists on data driven projects related to traffic safety grants.
- Exercise, using daily decision-making and problem-solving skills, independent judgement to determine best course of action to support end-users, senior analysts, supervisors and LSP Command.
- Assist the Business Analytics Specialist and GIS Specialist with data presentations.
- Assist with creating annual legislative and compliance reports.
- Assist with advanced data analyses relative to special enforcement initiatives, public records requests, and ad-hoc reports.
- Serves as a liaison between end-users and LHSC and LSP Grant staff to facilitate grant reporting and data analysis.
