Summary
Arcadis APM - Places has an immediate opening for an experienced EHS Regional Director to join our team. The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Regional Director is a senior-level position responsible for managing and overseeing organizational efforts to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with environmental regulations. This role requires a combination of strategic vision and hands-on implementation to build a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. As an EHS Director, you'll work closely with various departments to develop, implement, and sustain EHS programs, policies, and procedures that protect the workforce and the environment. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Proven success working for a GC or EPCM consultancy company in a similar role, supporting projects related to cleanrooms, laboratories, semiconductor fab, data center, solar manufacturing, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industries is highly desirable.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in an EHS role, with 5 years in a leadership position ideally supporting life science and semiconductor related industrial high-tech projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs and policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Lead and manage EHS audits and inspections.
- Investigate and report on incidents and accidents.
- Provide EHS training and development to employees.
- Collaborate with management to integrate EHS considerations into business operations.
- Track and report EHS metrics and KPIs.
- Oversee waste management and pollution prevention programs.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
- Develop emergency response and preparedness plans.
- Monitor and manage workplace ergonomics.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in EHS practices.
- Manage the EHS budget and allocate resources efficiently.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree level education (and or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Construction, EH&S, or related field with minimum 10 years’ direct experience in EHS management positions supporting large scale construction projects. Ideally working for client, GC, or EPCM company. And or related certifications: CSP, ASP, SMS, CHST.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Procore, Deltek, Construct Secure, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of successful EHS program development and implementation.
- Proven track record of successful EHS program development and implementation.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with people at all levels within the organization, client, and project partners.
- This position may be required to work at Arcadis contracted sites with varying changes in settings to include temperature, indoor and/or outdoor settings.
- Noise levels will be high at times depending upon work location. Should be prepared to work in all levels of noise and wear protective hearing equipment as needed.
- Must wear required PPE as required by Arcadis or its contractors.
- As a part of this environment, there may be the need to wear cleanroom coveralls and follow client hygiene protocols.

- Ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours as required.
