What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager position at DPE Construction?
DPE Construction, Inc. is a heavy civil, general contractor that primarily operates within Yuma County. We are a family-owned company and have been in business since 1979. We have the capability to self-perform all earthwork, hauling, paving, structural/civil concrete, and underground utilities. Our sister company, DPE Materials, also manufactures aggregates and asphalt for our own construction projects.
We are currently seeking applications for a highly motivated individual as an Assistant Project Manager. While construction knowledge is prefered, we are willing to train the right individual if need be. This position is based in Yuma, Arizona with some travel required within Yuma County and is for full-time employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· The Assistant Project Manager will be assigned to one or more of our projects and will be under the direct supervision of the Project Manager. The applicant may also need to coordinate with the appropriate superintendent, foreman, inspectors, and subcontractors as needed.
· Prepare construction submittals, schedules, RFI's, emails, contracts, change orders, and the like at the direction of the Project Manager.
· Distribute correct construction documents to field staff and appropriate administrative staff.
· Attend construction meetings and be able to provide accurate updates on progress.
· Prepare and track certified payroll reports for both DPE and external subcontractors.
· Document project delays and participate in conflict resolution to mitigate schedule derailment.
· Communicate with 811 and field staff on utility locating and keep project blukestake tickets up to date/current.
· Enforce and comply with all OSHA and DPE company safety guidelines.
· Analyze job cost reports and verify cost coding on a weekly basis.
· Read and have basis understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· While relevant construction experience is preferred, DPE is willing to train an individual that has a positive, eager attitude and is looking to get their foot in the door in construction management.
· Bilingual preferred but not a requirement.
· Strong computer skills are desired and the applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Posses a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
· Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk/hear, and operate computers.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
· The selected applicant should have excellent technical writing skills, organizational skills, oral communication skills, and attention to detail.
