Freight Forwarding Operations and Customer Service Agent - Air Imports

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Coordinate and manage international air import shipments from origin to destination
• Receive and process shipping documents such as: 
  • Air Waybill (AWB) 
  • Commercial Invoice 
  • Packing List 
  • Certificate of Origin (if applicable)

• Communicate with overseas agents, airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and customers

• Monitor shipment status and provide timely updates to customers
• Prepare and verify import documentation for accuracy and compliance
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, aviation security requirements, and company policies
• Coordinate with customs authorities for cargo release
• Resolve shipment issues such as delays, damaged cargo, or missing documentation
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update the freight management system
• Verify freight charges, invoices, and operational costs
• Support customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service
• Arrange cargo arrival, customs clearance, and final delivery

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• At least 3 years of relevant and recent experience in Freight Forwarding Operations and Customer Service
• Graduate in any field

• Freight Forwarding experience is mandatory

COMPENSATION

The expected base pay for this role is between $55,000-$69,000. This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
