What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Router Programmer/Operator position at DP West?
We are seeking a CNC Router Programmer/Operator with preferably 1–2 years of experience programming and/or operating CNC routers. This position is responsible for programming jobs, setting up, and operating the CNC router to machine custom plastic components.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and work well in a deadline-driven environment. The ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail, and consistently produce quality work is essential.
Our shop primarily machines custom components from UHMW, Acetal, and Nylon materials. Experience programming CNC routers is required. We currently use AlphaCAM software, but we are open to alternative programming software for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:
- Programming and operating CNC routers to produce custom plastic components
- Reading drawings and preparing programs accordingly
- Monitoring machining operations to ensure quality and accuracy
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Supporting other areas of the shop as needed; duties are not limited to those listed above
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of CNC router programming and/or operating experience preferred
- Experience machining plastic materials is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently under deadlines
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Overtime is rare but occasional overtime may be required.
